Who We Are
The Yakama Reservation Canine Fund began when three dedicated K9 handlers, along with their families and members of the local community, came together and recognized a crucial need: a sustainable source of support for the K9 teams that protect and serve the Yakama Reservation.

These handlers witnessed firsthand the challenges their dogs faced — from training and medical care to specialized equipment — and knew that the dogs’ dedication deserved proper resources. With the encouragement and backing of family and neighbors, they decided to create a fund that could provide consistent support for these hardworking teams.

From its very start, the fund has been built on community collaboration and shared commitment. By establishing this funding apparatus, the founders laid the foundation for a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the bond between K9 teams, their handlers, and the community they serve — ensuring that every dog and handler has the tools they need to perform at their best.

Behind the scenes, our families and volunteers provide essential support, helping with fundraising, community events, and administrative efforts that keep the fund running smoothly.
